Behavioral Expectations

Behavioral Expectations for Traveling

Please note that all rules and policies that pertain to student behavior and conduct at the Post Oak School continue to apply for the duration of the trip.  These include all policies relating to the use of prohibited chemicals, including alcohol and tobacco products, and any differences in the laws of the location of travel notwithstanding.

There are no cell phones or electronics permitted on trips. The purpose of trips is to provide cultural immersion and foster greater group connections.

Be where you are supposed to be at the proper time according to the schedule and faculty instructions.

Always move in groups of three or more. If you are leaving an activity, be sure to let the adult in charge know where you are going.

If during free time you want to leave the main group, you must enlist a faculty member to accompany you, let the trip leader know where you will be going and when returning, and stay together the whole time

There will be no hanging out in rooms during the day, unless supervised break time is given.

Each evening students will be in their rooms by 10:00pm with lights out by 10:30pm, unless otherwise coordinated by trip leaders. You may not leave your room once you have arrived there for the night.

As with all overnight trips, students are strictly forbidden from entering the rooms or accommodations of other students, except under direct adult supervision.

In general, a student may be asked to leave a school trip if his/her/their actions, comments, or language compromise the physical or mental safety or well-being of the individual, another person, or the entire community; and/or violates the trust of the adult chaperones and guardians in such a way that the activities of the school trip cannot be carried out effectively.
